About This Place

Wethersfield Pizza House, nestled at 955 Silas Deane Hwy in Wethersfield, CT, is a beloved local gem specializing in classic Italian-American pizza and hearty grinders that draw both longtime residents and out-of-towners alike. This cozy, family-run pizzeria delivers not only an inviting atmosphere but also a genuine taste of comfort with every bite.

The centerpiece of their menu—and the reason many make the pilgrimage—is undoubtedly their legendary chicken cutlet offerings. From the Chicken Parm Grinder to the 8 Inch Chicken Cutlet Grinder and the Italian Parm Style, these sandwiches feature golden, breaded chicken cutlets stacked high with homemade sauce and melted cheese. Patrons rave about this culinary standout. Patrick Silver’s ecstatic review captures the essence perfectly: “The first bite was an explosion of sensory joy so overwhelming I momentarily forgot my own name.” Such vivid passion for food speaks volumes about the quality and craftsmanship poured into each dish.

But Wethersfield Pizza House is far more than just chicken cutlet masterpieces. Their extensive grinder selection rivals any Italian deli, featuring options like the American Style Chicken Cutlet, Eggplant Parmesan, hearty Meatball Grinder, and the Fried Mozzarella with Marinara Sauce. For those craving traditional Italian entrees, dishes like Cheese Ravioli with sauce, Spaghetti or Ziti, and baked classics such as Chicken Cutlet or Eggplant Parmesan deliver generous portions with homestyle flavors that comfort and satisfy.

Their pizza, including favorites like the Pepperoni Pizza and Italian Combo, rounds out a menu crafted to delight all palates. Side orders like Garlic Bread with Cheese and Soup of the Day provide perfect complements.

One of the hallmarks of Wethersfield Pizza House is their warm, attentive service. Bobby Rutigliano highlights this warmth, noting how “the workers are so kind” and making the experience as memorable as the food itself. The owner’s genuine hospitality shines through, as Deborah Kane recalls, “The owner was super nice and we will definitely be back!”

Whether you’re dropping in for a quick lunch or bringing home a feast, the experience here is rooted in authenticity and passion. Daren Bradway didn’t hesitate to drive 45 minutes—and would gladly go hours—to savor what he calls “the best Chicken Parm I have EVER had.” This kind of devotion to craftsmanship and flavor is rare these days and instantly evident with each mouthwatering bite.

For those seeking a solid, soul-satisfying meal, Wethersfield Pizza House is a true treasure. The warm embrace of their savory grinders, perfectly baked pizzas, and standout chicken dishes creates a culinary experience that’s as comforting as it is unforgettable. A visit here isn’t just a meal; it’s a celebration of Italian-American comfort food done right.

I have seen the face of the divine, and it is breaded. I approached this chicken cutlet with the same unbridled skepticism I reserve for infomercials and my cousin’s pyramid schemes. Could it really be as good as they say? The answer is yes. Oh, sweet fried heavens, YES. The first bite was an explosion of sensory joy so overwhelming I momentarily forgot my own name. Was I Patrick? Phillip? Poultry Enthusiast #32? All I knew was the chicken—a perfectly crispy, golden-brown crust encasing tender, juicy meat that must have been marinated in unicorn tears and the dreams of angels. The seasoning was so balanced it could do yoga on a tightrope. The crunch was louder than my internal monologue, shattering the quiet as strangers turned to see the source of such profound culinary ecstasy. “What’s he eating?” they wondered. “Is he okay?” I was not okay. I was transcendent. I’d like to thank the chicken for its sacrifice, the chef for their wizardry, and the parchment paper for holding this masterpiece. 11/10.

Got their famous chicken cutlet grinder today. Chose the sauce and cheese version. I have never seen so much bang for the buck! A huge stack of homemade chicken cutlets that were fabulous with homemade sauce and cheese. I have been to many places but this tops everything. Owner was super nice and we will definitely be back!

Seen this place online and had to see if the Chicken Parm lived up to the Hype. Hands down the best I have EVER had!! This isn’t any other chicken parm. The chicken cutlets are stacked 5 high and made to perfection. We drove 45 min and I would have driven hrs for it,it’s that damn good. If there’s something you def need in you life, this chicken parm def is one of them. The extra sauce pushes it to another level letting you enjoy the great tasting homemade sauce. The owners are super nice and make it feel like home. Will definitely be going again because it’s just that damn good.

I went in for their famous Eggplant Parmesan and left with dinner for the family. This gem in Wethersfield serves up some great grinders and pizza. Most of the items are made in house. I stopped in to get a Half Eggplant Parmesan grinder with peppers and onions. This small family owned place was so inviting I decided to look at the menu and grabbed dinner for my own family. The owner took the time to step behind the kitchen and offer me a quick bite to eat. She served me up a plate of her chicken parmesan served with her own special recipe. And shall I say it was delish. If your in the area you have to check them out tell them Ty sent you. Oh and it's a cash only establishment so bring cash or use their indoor ATM.

A can’t miss spot in Connecticut! For $12 you get a massive, delicious chicken cutlet grinder. Worth at least two meals, stacked with many cutlets. Not too much sauce, good cheese pull. Also the family that owns it is very nice. There’s a reason this place has been running for decades! Cash only with ATM inside.

We had the pleasure of dining in here this afternoon. Maria Francesca is undeniably the heart beat of this place! She was so sweet and accommodating and went out of her way to make myself and my family feel welcomed. She even gave us a free sample of their insanely delicious chicken cutlets!! Excellent food and dining experience with a family feel to it. Would absolutely recommend dining in. Thanks again!

Definitely a gigantic chicken cutlet grinder, HUGE! Bread is soft and fresh. Sauce is light and not overused. Chicken cutlets are thin and cooked perfectly. One of the best around.
